DL-Panthenol (INCI Name: DL-Panthenol, Chemical Name: DL-Pantothenol, CAS 16485-10-2) is the alcohol derivative of pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5), a racemic mixture composed of equal amounts of D-panthenol and L-panthenol. Among them, D-panthenol is the biologically active form and a precursor of coenzyme A, which participates in the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates in the human body.
